Welcome Eric, I have a 1992 F33A out of Ontario/Canada. I have the IO520 in it but plan on the IO550B for the next overhaul.
My advice which mostly echoes what others have said:
- Get the Eckelbar book(s), but the 'flying the beech bonanza' book is at least as important as the POH. I've read it 10 times and keep it as a reference.
- Get an engine monitor and gamijectors, the very first mods if the plane doesnt already have em. Flying LOP (and taxxiing lean) adds significant life to the engine and even more so with the IO550B. Keep CHTs cool.
- Go through the BPPP courses and use a BPPP instructor if you can to go over flying technique and numbers.
- Do an ABS service clinic before the next annual. You'll have some of the best eyes in the world look at your plane's rigging and their advice beats anything you can pay for. Rig/tune/tweak the plane according to them and the Bo will be happy for decades.
- Fly lots! Enjoy and hope to see you at Bonanza gatherings here and there!

Username Protected wrote: Congratulations!!! The 550 F33A is an amazing airplane. Do all the BPP stuff, read Eckalbar, get some good type specific instruction and you will find that it is a wonderful plane to fly and a true time machine. Thx I’ve got over 100 hrs in her now. I trained for 60. I love the bird. Even better once I learned to slow her down lol

--paul KVAY I’d love to hang out learn and fly.
