52 y/o Engineer with 3 kids. After a fair bit of digging, and with my wife's blessing, I've decided to search for a Sundowner that I and my son can use for obtaining our PPLs. I'm 6'1", son is 6'3" and still growing. Other than (a lack of) speed, the Sundowner seems to be the hands-down best option for a first plane we can use to train (including IFR) and build experience before transitioning to something faster with more payload. It's also something I can get insured.

There is one listed for sale at Beech Aero Club with some interesting history, including a ~13 year hiatus from active life. I am open to recommendations on a qualified / knowledgeable person to conduct a thorough pre-buy inspection in Baxley, GA.
