Hello,
I have a dirt strip in Elizabeth Colorado and have been looking into bonanzas. Two other guys at my airport ran bonanzas out of here for years so I'm hoping the runway would be suitable if i do a little work smoothing it back out. From what i hear the mains are very stout you just need to protect the nose wheel. Its a 4400' grass/dirt strip with 100' trees on both ends at 6500' elevation.
I would probably be getting an older bonanza project (pre-H?). Right now I have a C 150/ 150 HP but I have time in lots of high performance aircraft as well. I am not an A and P but have many friends and family that are. I have worked on aircraft projects off and on most of my life so that helps.
It took me a bit to get setup here but I am looking forward to reading and learning.

Welcome Ashley!!

I'm based in Longmont although my G35 was initially based at a 2,500' grass strip in Pensacola, FL. Get yourself an early v-tail and have fun on your home strip.

Love the town's name. Maybe I can convince my wife Elizabeth to move there since we have a daughter in the Springs. BTW no need for a hello form on BT. We can just say "hello"!

Thanks you all for the warm welcome. I thought I was buying a f35 that was ferryable. Aluminum controls turned out to be magnesium with holes corroded through, missing ruddervator counterweights and pressure carb and many other things. Just about everything I've read to look for was either bad or missing. Disappointing but I'm glad I took the time to drive out and look.

Wow, dodged a bullet there Ashley. Good for you. Don't let yourself be lured in by a 'bargain basement' asking price, it's likely to be just the initial cost.
