Thanks to the Jeffs for clarifying the vision; while I don’t post often, I have really enjoyed the technical, non-political aspects of this forum, and I strongly agree with keeping it that way! I do enjoy the jokes, though! :D

I agree with Mike, the real strength of Beechtalk is the combined knowledge of all its members relating to the safe and economical operation of our wonderful aircraft, specifically Beechcraft products.

There are plenty of other outlets in this world for social and political commentary!

Thanks for your post Jeff! Tim

I Respectfully Disagree Max :) Topics do get a touch Political from Time to Time, But Beechtalk is so Much More than just about Airlplanes

I learn a Lot about Life...........EVERY DAY HERE..............as well as all I Need about AeroPlanes  :D

Love Ya Max :bud:

If there was ever a 100% consistent example, it’s Sid. Love ya brother!

As much as we read and discuss Crash Talk to learn and hopefully save a life, I think the COVID threads may have similar values. I feel that the information shared by the experienced medical experts here very well may save a life.
My thanks to those that have given us the info without any political spin.

And Thanks to the Jeffs for trying to keep the masses in check

I enjoy reading the thoughts - whether aviation oriented or whatever - of those on BT. We have many very smart people on this forum whose opinions I may not agree with, but I enjoy reading and considering. If a thread is started that I have no interest in, I simply ignore it. The diversity of topics is one of the things that makes BT a great place. None of us are so narrow that aviation is the “end all and be all” so let our thoughts and opinions be heard but for our own sake, do it with a modicum of decorum and diplomacy. Keeping politics at bay has been and should remain a BT standard, even though it is tough since some threads are inexorably tied to it.

Has there been any thought to ditching the Like/Dislike feature?

Maybe it’s just me but I feel the BT community began to take on a more negative tone after that feature was introduced.

I would be against doing away with it. It’s the only way I can scan a long active thread sometimes. Just look for the likes and read those until caught up. Actually find valuable info in the COVID 19 threads that way - especially from Docs. And give me a way to say thanks without making the thread any longer by saying... thanks.

It also is a way to let someone know they’re being a wanker and don’t realize it sometimes. ;)
