Hello all, Thanks for accepting my application to join. Giving strong consideration to a baron for commuting between Phoenix and Oakland CA. Plan is to begin my study and appreciate any advice from the group. Will be looking for an LPV approach capable plane, probably a 55 model, possibly a 58. It’s been many years since I‘ve flown twins and my knowledge of the Baron, AD’s, options and equipment are lacking at this point. My Background - I manage and fly a GIV based in the Bay Area for a private company. My son is working on pvt pilot cert and will need to build time in the near future.

Flew my Baron for the first time in five weeks today after completion of the annual. John’s right - it is one hell of a fun airplane to fly. Will drive it around some more tomorrow if the SoCal weather cooperates just to have fun.

Hi Michael,
Welcome!
I have a daughter in Oakland...sent me photos yesterday of a cruise ship docking near where she lives....Corona Cruise Lines I think. (Sometimes I just scratch my head!)
I went with the 58P about 150 hours ago and haven't regretted it yet. Like you, I have been impressed with how much there is to learn. Thus, I usually just read BT and rarely comment. There are a wealth of BT contributors with expertise on the 58P (and all other types I am sure,) and I learn daily.
Good luck with your search. I am sure you will find BT a big help.

Bought my G58 just one year ago after taking a deep dive on this site. Flew it to San Jose Calif from Phx for a big football game. Have flown up the CA coast to the San Juan Islands. Will be flying it to NC in June for a wedding. Several trips to CO. Flew it today for one hour just because and will do my BFR and IPC tomorrow, wx permitting.
