Hello everyone.

I am looking into purchasing a 1981 Baron55 and have been checking insurance rates. And “Wow” they are high. I have a little over 700 hrs with a multi, instrument, commercial rating but only 15 hrs multi. So it’s like the chicken and the egg routine. The insurance people want you to have a bunch of hours before you get a “reasonable “ rate. Does anyone have leads or ideas on affordable insurance?

Welcome Don! The insurance market got “hard” this year. My rates shot up 33%! If you click on “Sponsors” up there /\/\/\/\ there are a number of excellent brokers that may be able to help.

Yeah, shop around. But it is up, all across the board.

I am going to guess that your low multi time is an issue.

Pay it. Second year should be reasonable. Consider first year insurance as part of the deal in buying a twin.
