After flying my buddy's (Andy E) A36, then owning a 205 for a while, I've finally found my own after six months of searching (and 100 letters sent to owners).

1977, N17571 - 3350TTAF, IO550. Not much to say in the way of avionics, but with everything coming out from Garmin, Dynon, and Aerovonics, I'm sure I can find somewhere to spend my money (or lack thereof.

Thanks for all of the posts so far, they definitely helped with the decision.

Hey, cool. Sounds like you have a new panel planned out? What all is going in? You must be excited for it?

I haven't decided yet. Between all of the stuff from Garmin and Dynon, I think there will be a lot of options. Main thing is ADSB...but definitely adding the D'Shannon GWI and the extended baggage.

Congrats on the new plane Michael!
I have a 1971 A36 with an IO-520. What kind of climb and cruise numbers are you seeing with the 550?

Thanks, John!

Climbing out of Boise at around 70°F, 4k’ I believe I was seeing around 900FPM. I had some good tailwinds/headwinds. So a swing between 176kts/145kts. I definitely need to figure out the standard expectations.

Hey Michael! Beautiful bird.

Congrats on the successful search and acquisition. Just went through the same agonizing process last year. Lots of sifting through junk... (#firstworldproblems ;) )

I know how great it feels to finally take possession!

Best of luck and have fun!!

E
