OK, I fly a Mooney, so this is the wrong forum for me, but too many of my Google searches for flying information end up pointing to BeechTalk. I'm tired of being frustrated by the BeechTalk members only message when simply trying to gain knowledge. So, you see, I simply have no choice but to join. Please be nicer than my Beech owning neighbor when I landed at his grass strip and told him I bought a Mooney. He just looked at me and said "What the hell did you do that for?"

Welcome Mark, Plenty of current and former Mooney owners are here on the board as well. Like any family, we all have our crazy cousins somewhere in the mix...we're no different here... Cheers, Brian

And I do recall him telling me he was going to look for a Bonanza after flying Formation with all those muscular Beech’s. True Story!

My neighbor is great, he's 92 years old and just quit flying last year. Old enough that he says exactly what he's thinking with no filter. He was letting me use his grass strip and hangar until I could get into a hangar at the airport. It was sweet to have my plane next door!
The grass strip is 2,000 ft. long and 20 ft. wide with 40 ft. turnarounds and power lines on the north end. Needless to say, it was a bit tight a sub 200 hr. Mooney driver. He and his wife said they could get that Bo out of there fully loaded on a hot summer afternoon though. I don't know if that is more of a testament to the machine or his skills, probably both!
The Bo is a great plane with a stout landing gear, but I don't know if I'd ever want to give up the 20+ mpg that I get out of my Mooney! That could change in a hurry if I ever had my own grass strip though.

I was forced as well. I was looking for information regarding Shoulder Harness STC's and my search brought me to the website.
I joined but had to wait for the Administrator to approve me.
When my partners and I purchased the Mouse in 2001 we communicated with the other Mouse owners via "Musketeer Mail" a Yahoo Mail Group. I think that group formed Beech Aero Club.
Good to be back in a Group.
