Hello!
I'm from Burlington, WI.
A coworker and I (both aircraft apprentices/mechanics who are taking our general and airframe this month) purchased a 56 G35 Bonanza that has been sitting for 19 years.
N88JW.
In 1997 she was returned to service with an engine overhaul on the E-225-8 after 7 years of sitting. At that time, it was also stripped and painted. In 1999, it was put down again for a major panel upgrade...and there it sat.
Whether the owner lost interest, money, or otherwise, we are not sure. But, 19 years stored inside has been kind to it thankfully, so this is our gain.
It will be a project, but we've got several things going.
Cylinders are chrome, and beautiful. Compressions 68/80 on the lowest, 74/80 on the highest. We've got some leaks, but that's to be expected. She runs beautiful, and after 7 months of minor work, made a successful 15 minute ferry flight to BUU, where she now resides in our T hangar for some serious winter work.
The plans:
Full LED light conversion, adding an incandescent nose gear light for winter landings Alternator conversion Complete ship's harness rewire stand-by alternator Flush mount panel upgrade with: (2) Aspen EFD1000 (pro plus and certified backup when that releases soon) Lynx 9000 xpdr PMA450B audio panel IFD540 IFD440 JPI EDM900 primary S-Tec 3100 autopilot
Re-do interior Rebuild landing gear/repaint gear and gear wells Replace left Aileron
Down the road she's going to get a 520 or 550 upgrade, but that's 10 years out at least.
I'm aware that this is more than the aircraft is worth in avionics, but i don't much care. This is a first plane/trainer for us, and we intend to get Private, VFR, High performance, Complex, and IFR in it. It's for use, not for sale, and I love it. Re-rig aircraft with stainless

Welcome, and good luck with the project! Keep us posted! BTW, we have a loose “pics or it didn’t happen” vibe around here.

working on pics now. I'm a few years removed from using an actual computer with this "conveniently mobile" wave of technology, and in the middle of figuring out making icloud work with windows lol

Congrats Pat. I'm down at 3CK and often fuel up at BUU. Hope to meet you sometime and check out your good looking bird (and upgrades!).
