Howdy. So I have no experience flying a Beech but have been helping restore a fleet of 18's since January. The fellow I work for is putting together a Part 135 cargo operation utilizing the 18's. Kinda just for fun. He has four of them but one, set up as an executive transport, not cargo, is sold and going to Australia. We just got the first cargo bird finished and are working on the second. The third is a former Air America turbine conversion and is slated for engine overhaul before we dig into the airframe (no pic for that one). On the side, I am working on another 18 for a different owner that had a gear collapse on landing.

I do fly, just haven't had the opportunity yet to fly a Beech :-(

I believe the blue one was at the Stuart airshow last weekend. My son and I admired it during a few walk arounds.

John, that is just SO cool! Where is the Beech 18 cargo outfit going to be. That’s a real nostalgia throwback...

We are out of Lantana, KLNA. This is all about the nostalgia, the owner was a lineboy for this sort of Beech 18 op out of Lantana when he was young and is returning to his roots after a successful aviation career.

So I could come down and step back 30 years to my youth and revert back to a BE-18 freight dog? Not...

But seriously, where are you going to find pilots that can fly the Taildragger without wrecking it?

Chief pilot has plenty of experience in the taildraggers. He is training two pilots in the trike but we do not have a taildragger flying yet. This is a well-funded operation.

Whenever I hear about cargo ops on the 18, I think about this poor chap. Tough old birds!
