Hello everyone,

I am a low time IR pilot in the Nashville, TN area curious about V35 and A36 Bonanzas.
I currently fly a Grumman Tiger (non-owner) frequently and enjoy the light controls and slight speed boost over the C172 that I trained in. A Bonanza would be a major upgrade in both speed and useful load over the Tiger.

Typical missions are solo to 3 people 80% of the time, with 300-400 mile legs (Nashville to the South Carolina coast or the midwest). A 6 year old passenger can't usually fly long enough to drain the tanks dry in the Tiger.

No time frame right now for moving from club member to owner, so I am spending my time learning as much as possible about various airframes and avionics. I also need to find a place in Nashville to put an airplane!

Much to learn here; plenty of threads on your topics of interest.

Greetings from not too far away in Pleasant View. This is a great site. Happy to take you for a Bonanza buzz, but older Vtail is about all I can offer. Where is that Tiger?

Jeff,
We keep the Tiger in Lebanon, M54.
I'm sure we could meet up sometime.

Nathan

I don't know a bit about it. Where can I find out more?

Editing: Oh, of course it's in Tullahoma!

Yessir, there is a thread about it at the top of this page under events. Grab you six year old and your tent and come on down. There would be Bonanzas of every type to look at, maybe a chance to fly one, stranger things have happened. Easy drive if that Tiger was booked.

Absolutely a chance to fly IN one! Maybe even in formation...if you want.

Where do you live in Nashville? What part of town. I have family all over the place there. On the West side KJWN has everything a good executive airport has to offer, including lots of traffic.

My favorite is M91 (Springfield) north of town and the FBO there, Wingnuts Aviation are as good as it gets. Cheap fuel. Hangars available and the nicest staff you'll ever want to interact with.

I'm not familiar with Lebanon but I've got family there and in Mt. Juliet...I just fly into M91 as my Father In Law is quite close and we always stay there.

KSYI (Shelbyville) is just just like M91 but south of town. A bit East of there is KMBT (Murfreesboro) which is SE of Nashville and pretty busy but very nice.

You have many good options.

My Brother In Law has some cattle on the Cumberland Plateau and KCSV is only 10 miles from there....just an excellent airport. Not exactly close to Nashville but it is close to one of my favorite commercial establishments in the state of TN.

If you visit tell Gary "The Silver Jesus" I said hello...check out his socks!

I have digressed. :btt:

Thanks for the responses everyone.
I have reached out to one of the local mentors and did a search to find an ABS CFI that can help answer questions or work on transition training. Turns out it's the DPE that did my IR checkride. Small world!

Lots of great resources here.
