Hey all,
First time buyer here looking for the appropriate forum for questions. Moving from Shreveport, LA to Whiteman AFB, MO (active duty Air Force pilot). My interest in a Bonanza comes from flying my dad's S35. Prior Comanche 250 part owner and now want to switch from the dark side. Any quiet birdmen or beech boys may know my dad up in Olympia, WA. I'd like to keep the price around 40K for an entry level bonanza so I don't have to take out a loan. Basic IFR is all I need, just something to get me down through some wx. Not very engine savvy, but starting to learn the difference b/w the E-XXX and IO's (carbonated vs fuel injected). Electric vs. hydro prop in the early to later models. Based on my budget it may look like I have to go with an E-225 but obviously would prefer to go faster. Any pros/cons with the different engines and elec vs hydro prop i.e higher mx costs, performance of either, etc.? Also any gotchas for purchasing bonanzas or first time buyers in general would be appreciated as well. If this isn't the appropriate forum I can direct my questions elsewhere. Ya'll seem to like photo evidence so pics are attached. Unfortunately, I own neither bird but I'm here to fix that. Thanks for the help!
