Hello from San Luis Obispo, CA

My dad and I owned a Sundowner in the 80's and 90's. He passed and I got out of flying and sold the plane a few years later in '96 because of house payments, car payments, etc. I was making decisions on whether to fly or not based on how much gas it was going to cost me. Something had to give.

I recently got back into flying after my daughter bought me an hour "introductory" flight for Christmas. Went up in late Feb. The bug bit me again and off I went to get my physical.

My dad taught me to be a Beechcraft guy so long story short...I bought a Baron and flew it home from NC last week. The whole process was one of the biggest adventures of my lifetime so far.. (Oshkosh???). My family and kids are exponentially bigger but still...

Looking forward to reading the wisdom from years of experience on Beechtalk.

Rob

Welcome (back?) to the club. That’s a common path in many pilot’s history. Your first lesson in being part of the BT community is that any time there is a new member or new plane, pics are required.

Welcome, Robert (welcome back I guess). What a great way to dive back into aviation, by a nudge from a family member.

Nice looking airplane and what a great choice. Watch out- somebody on here will soon ask if the props always stop like that. :D
