Safely tucked away in shade hanger at Stuart. A great flying, quality AC. Thank you Guy and Mark for the warm welcome to Beech Talk.

Hi, Bob Batherson here. I just bought a 74 Sierra. It's having some work done and its being annualed. I've got a complex endorsement and about 200 hours in a Comanche. Insurance for the Sierra requires 5 hours dual with 15 T&Os. Problem is finding a CFI who meets the open pilot requirement. The aircraft is located in SE Alabama. Any suggestions on how I can find a CFI in the area?

Thanks for your help. Looking forward to being part of this community.

Bob

If you haven't already done so, join beechaeroclub.org. It's the type club for the Musketeer/Sundowner/Sierra. Lot's of knowledgeable folks there and they'd be happy to hook you up with an instructor in the area.

Hi Bob,

My insurance company required 5 hrs dual since my previous plane was a Cardinal FG and I had no time in retract. I was very fortunate to have Chip Akins for a CFI. He lives in PA and will travel. We knocked out the 5 hrs dual on the way back to Florida and I had a enjoyable trip and was very comfortable with the AC when he flew back home. Here is contact info:
Chip Akins

Best regards,
Tom

Congrats Tom!

The Sierra is a rock solid 4 cylinder s/e retract

The BE24R (MC-303) was my first aircraft and I flew it for ~9 years/1400 hours.

Enjoy it!

Mike
