From what I hear, Textron does not favor legacy support to the same degree that earlier custodians of the Beech brand demonstrated. A number of Beechcraft owners told me that ABS has picked up the mantle and deserves our support. I can vouch for that: during the six months I spent researching Barons and Bonanzas, I called on ABS for expert advice quite frequently, and spoke most often with Bob Ripley, who was always generous with his technical knowledge.

Welcome Nigel!

I’ve been enjoying your photos and writings for years.

My wife and I bought Mac’s Baron a few months ago. I’m guessing you may have been in it once or twice!

Bob

Hello Bob:
Have been occupied with my newly acquired A36 and neglected to check Beechtalk lately; logged close to 20 hours since launching east from South Dakota on April 22.
Yep, I rode in Mac’s Baron 58 a few times, among them a long haul to Vegas from NYC for an NBAA Convention.
Congratulations on your purchase; I hope you log many enjoyable hours in the airplane.
Nigel

Welcome Nigel! Used to read you back in the day in Flying. Nice tribute over at Air Facts to Dick Collins too. Sweet Bonanza!

That’s a lot of flying already. Looks like a great plane, enjoy!

We are loving the Baron so far, it’s a great traveling machine.
