Hello all. I have been monitoring the group for a while, and I have made a few posts and a few PMs, but here is my "official" introduction.
I am a 20+ year Bonanza (Debonair) guy. I sold my "baby" to purchase a new Mooney Ovation 3 (G-1000, FIKI, the works) back in 2008 (2 weeks before the economy collapsed). I flew the Mooney for 8 years, and then decided to "graduate" to a multi-engine. But I wasn't satisfied with just a multi, I moved up to an Eclipse jet.
The jet has been a great experience, but it just doesn't fit my highly variable mission as well as the Mooney did. So I am looking to move back to either a Mooney Acclaim, or an A36.
If I go with an A36, here is what I am looking for:
Turbocharged (or Turbonormalized) Oxygen Deicing Glass avionics package (must have WAAS) Autopilot with GPSS (or equivalent)
Whatever the plane you have that you want to sell to me doesn't have, I will have to add it.
I would also consider a twin if it had a lot of what I am seeking.
I would entertain a trade if someone would like to move up to a jet. It is extraordinarily easy to fly. :-)
Thanks, Mark

Heh Mark, Good to see you here. Hope all is well. I will be corrected soon, but I don’t think you will find a 36 known ice, with the range of an Acclaim KI or the speed. Is it for just one or two people? Our friend is still selling Mooney’s. Talk soon. Chuck Ps I get to watch you shopping

@Chuck,
Great to hear from you again! I wrote you a lengthy reply earlier this morning using my cell phone, but the forum system crashed on my phone and I lost it. So, I will summarize with a couple of highlights.
I know that you cannot get a FIKI A36 with tip tanks (to match the range of the Acclaim), but you can get the inadvertent ice system on it, which would suit my needs. I haven't given up on an Acclaim yet, just trying to find the best deal out there. Like I said, I was a 20-year Beech guy and I love the way the Beeches fly. The Mooneys are great planes, and have a lot of great technology built in from day one, and that is why the Acclaim is still a contender. I have found that I really enjoy the option of really loading up and going sometimes, so I like the extra space and the greater useful loads that the A36 has to offer. Everything is a trade-off, right?
Your message jogged my brain a bit because you made me realize that I had forgotten to mention in my OP that I also wanted tip tanks and >1300 useful load.
I know that our friend is still selling Mooneys, and don't doubt for a minute that he doesn't know that I'm looking. :-)
@John,
Thanks for the recommendation. I almost pulled the trigger on a TBM just before purchasing the Eclipse. I was looking for turbine (for higher reliability and smoother operation) and pressurization so we wouldn't have to suck O2 up high. TBM was on the top of my list, but they were all just a little too far out of my price range. I found one with some damage history that had been properly repaired that I could have afforded, but damage history on a pressurized vessel kept me out of that one. I wouldn't turn down a TBM if the right deal came along. Let me know if you know of such a deal out there. My budget is probably closer to the 700 series than the 8 or 900s.
Thanks, Mark
