Hello all. Well, evidently I didn't learn the first time I owned an airplane, and after 20 years, I have now purchased another.

It's a bit of a project, and my first V-tail Bo, so I'm looking forward to it.

Need to find someone to give me a couple hours in a E series Bo or come fly mine with me if you're really daring in Oregon before I take off East bound. Just wanted a nice family cruiser and something for my son to build time in as he gets older.

Gosh. I have a Bonanza but I don't think I know how to prime and start one with a pressure carb and a wobble pump. (If that's what you have).

I'm sure someone here can assist. What airport in Oregon?

I'm sure you are aware, but it's still icing season in many parts of the Cascades and Rockies, you will need to pick your weather window for the return trip.

I have some Mx issues that need to be addressed before I take it anywhere and insurance says I need a flight with a CFI in one before I am "insured". Amusingly, they didn't list the requirements for the CFI, nor minimum hours, so I'm essentially using the BPPP syllabus for the basics, which looks to be about 2 hours of ground and 2-3 hours of flight training, roughly.

Need to get it moved in the next couple weeks, hopefully in about a week I'll have the one Mx item sorted and be ready to move it. It's down in Roseburg, south of Eugene.

Plan is to move it day 1 to Boise up through the pass, then two legs east then south to DEN, then through ICT another day and let the Beechcraft folks check the flight control rigging, then finally back to BNA.

And yes, by E-series I mean a E-185-11 equipped V-tail.

It's essentially original with a couple STC's along the way and a flip-flop NAV/COM.

I’m based at JWN, Nashville’s main GA airport. I don’t know anything about the E series either, but I’ve had a V35b for 14 years. Look me up when you get here.

PS there is a substantial waiting list for a hangar at JWN, suggest you go ahead and get on it. Depending on where you intend to live, MQY and M54 could be options for you as well.

I'm up in Hendersonville, so I'll be putting it at M33. No hangar space up there either.

Michael Thompson at AvStar in Washington state is very active on BT and his shop has Vintage Beech expertise. He would be my go-to guy for Beech specific maintenance in the Pacific Northwest.

I think Wingnuts Aviation not far from BNA is active with American Bonanza Society and Should be trained in rigging and other vintage Beech maintenance.

On the way back (sort of), Del Lehman with Mountain Airframe is active on BT and does a lot of rigging and landing gear work since his shop does a lot of insurance repair for gear up landings. He's worked on my plane quite a lot and I can personally recommend him. He's in Mena, AR.

There is a BPPP instructor I’ve f,own with locally who has a 50’s era Bo though heavily STCd. I can’t recall his name but I will see if I can find it. Agree Wing Nuts at m91 would be a good source for you Chris, the owner, has an S35.

Nice, thanks both of you. If you happen to come across his contact information and he's willing to give me a checkout in his Bo, I'd greatly appreciate it. Happy to compensate him for his time and aircraft use of course, like any other instructor.

Insurance didn't seem to care who or where, or even specific model, but for my own peace of mind since everything I'm reading says the aircraft can be quirky initially, I'd greatly prefer someone run me through the paces.

I grew up in the Roseburg area and am now living in Boise. I'm not an instructor, but I've been flying the same E-225 powered A35 for the past 20 odd years. I like to think I know a little about this vintage of Bonanza.

Alas, I utterly destroyed my Achilles last weekend. Had surgery and was told not to expect to get back into any plane for at least six weeks.

Greetings Rick. Ditto shout-out for Michael Thompson to look over your airplane before heading east. I can help you out on this end. I have a G-35 in my back yard in Pleasant View, I have the CFI, even airline passes to the NW if the other stars line up. As others have suggested, there is a BPPP blessed CFI at M33. If I recall correctly, he has an E model in the hangar, his first name is John, and that is enough information to cross-reference his contact info at ABS. I met him at one of the M33 pancake breakfasts and it turns out he and I use the same Knoxville gang for maintenance, they really know the E-series and I can hook you up with them as well. As soon as the weather dries up, I would be happy to take you up in my G.
