Thanks, gents. I'll give the folks at M33 a call and try to track that gentleman down. They've recently had a shakeup where the flight school there shut down and the city has taken back over a bunch of stuff. They're a little disorganized at the moment. That's one of the things that has prompted me to do this. The only plane left up there to rent is an Archer at $155 plus tax an hour. Ouch. That and I've always wanted a Bo.

Hi Rich,
I can't help with the MX or Instructor issues but just wanted to wish a "congratulations" and be safe on your journey!
Let us know when you want to get together for some $100 hamburger trips and we will set it up.

Thanks! We were all set for tomorrow but I think the weather is going to rain us out. If not, we'll get together Monday. Thanks everyone for the help. You guys are great!

Another +1 for John Wilcox, he did my 25 hours of required time for my transition into the 36 Bonanza. Great guy and really enjoyed my time with him. He actually owns an earlier V-tail that he flies almost daily. Although, he now has his DPE certification so I'm not sure if he's actually instructing much anymore.
Either way, welcome to Nashville and would love to meet up with you and other local guys sometime soon!
There is a great IMC Club which meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at BNA, definitely look into it and try to make it out. We're regularly having over 75+ attend so it's a great way to meet other local pilots.
I'm at Smyrna personally (KMQY) but as mentioned above, hangar space all around Nashville is hard to find, especially at Tune (KJWN).
Best of luck on the move and look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Excellent, thanks!
Despite the thunderboomer moving through, we're supposed to get together and fly tomorrow (postponed for weather the last few days).
Look forward to meeting everyone once I get her back here.

So I picked her up today. She needed a little work, found a gentleman up in EUG to come down with me, get her flying, signed off, and (without insurance) flew her VFR back to Eugene. I have a local ABS instructor coming out in a day or two to get me "righteous" with the insurance company. As always, there's a few squawks, most of which I'm comfortable with, BUT... it appears to have a working Century 1 autopilot EXCEPT... when the autopilot is off, the turn/slip indicator doesn't turn. Ball moves of course, but no turn/bank. Is that normal on a Century 1 if it's not turned on for wing leveler activation? Attitude Indicator works fine. Didn't have time to mess with it, too busy flying the plane. Thanks! RM
