Hey Everyone -
Just a quick intro to the BT group.
I've been flying for almost 19 years, primarily out of Palomar KCRQ in North San Diego county. Renting the entire time after resisting the strong urge to buy on several occasions. But now I'm back on the hunt and may actually pull the trigger this time for several reasons - most motivating being that my son loves going up and in a few years hopes to get the ppl when he's 16. So we're having a great time flying together.
My profile is pretty straightforward - ppl, IR (not current), tailwheel, complex, high performance. Most hours in C products. Generally local flying and occasional day trips.
I'm focused on a basic rig - fixed gear, likely fixed prop, likely 4 seat, but still open to 2. Front runners include AA5, C23, TB9/10, DA20, c152 or perhaps LSA. Trying to avoid single door. From this list, you can see some instruction hapenning rather than just a plane for me. I can convince myself on really any of the above, but lean towards c23 or aa5.
Anyway, that's what I'm up to. Hope to learn and contribute along the way.
Steve

Thanks John. Might just do that when the weather clears. FUL is an easy hop.

Thanks Tom. About the 172, I guess I can always rent one any time, which is what I do! Honestly, it seems they carry too much of a price premium for some pretty tired rigs. And I guess after so many years I'm looking to change.

I also have a A36, but that is for long cross country trip. But for local, nothing beats the Grumman for the money. Hey Franck - I'd love the opportunity to meet and at least check out your aa5b and get your thoughts on things like local support for Grumman and Beech. I just met with the guys at Cruiseair for Beech - maybe you take your a36 there?

Hey Steve, Nothing we like doing more than spending someone else's money! Check out Peddlers talk.....there are a bunch of great planes there that should be of interest including a 152 and a 172 for fairly short money.

Thanks everyone. @Ray - I've flown a plusone Archer that's tucked in there by the t's behind CalJet a few times. But the vast majority of my renting is from Pinnacle. Been flying them basically since they started - and I started. I've tried most clubs around SD over the years

Steve, welcome to BT! I'm down at SEE, and a Plus One member. Great club, with a nice selection of planes.
