Hello to All I fly on regular bases over Tasmania and sometimes main land Australia southern half.
I am about to buy Beechcraft Musketeer 1968 vintage with 160 HP engine and I hope in good "working" order, apparently has done about 3500 hrs. total
I would appreciate any comments and hints about pre-purchase inspection

Regards

George

Welcome George!

My only advice is to find someone knowledgeable in the airframe you are purchasing. My family purchased our Bonanza several years ago and had a pre-purchase inspection done by someone that didn't know Bonanza's intimately. This mistake ultimately led to 3 emergency landings bringing the plane home and several dozen AD's not complied with, among other issues that had to be taken care of quickly after purchase.

Looking back, this makes our ownership of the airplane an amazing experience as we know the airplane inside and out. The down side was the cost to get it to where it is today.

Spending the extra money for an "expert" pays for itself in the first year of ownership..or for us, in the first week!

Good luck, and keep us posted on what you get with photos and details!

Welcome George. Check out the Beech Aero Club (http://www.beachaeroclub.org). They can be another great source of info, particularly on the Musketeer line and there are a few members in your area, Mark W. in particular, that can be a source of great Mouse knowledge.

Hi George
The best Beechcraft engineers in Australia are David Page at Southern Aircraft Services, West Sale and Horsham Aviation.
