Hi All,

I’m a private pilot just outside of Indianapolis, IN. I am working toward my instrument rating as well as attempting to find and purchase a plane.

I would love to find a Sundowner as a possible “gateway” plane. For now I need the load to haul my family and slow is okay until I get a few more hours in the log book.

Looking forward to a wealth of information here! Thanks for the add!!

Amy,
Welcome. Lots of advice to be found here.

I did some of my initial training in a Sundowner. Really liked that plane, but it was slow. Really depends on how far you will be travelling.

Morning Amy. This is also my first post. I live in Queensland Australia and am in the process of buying a plane. I am looking at Mooney Ovations and Bonanzas. What plane are you looking at?

Hi Amy,

a few short months from now, there will be a formation flying clinic up the road from you in kokomo. That would be a good opportunity to see several different models of bonanzas and have some people try and talk you into a bo instead of a baby beech.

Don't assume that a bonanza costs more than a fixed-gear plane. If you are going places in it, then you might find the faster plane is actually cheaper on a per-mile basis.

Welcome Amy! Good luck with your search.

If you haven't yet, I'd suggest reading this:

A lot of wisdom there.

We are trying to fill our hangar at 2R2, which is Hendricks County!

Nice shots Amy. Welcome and good luck in your search for the right plane. The very best part is looking for your bird. After the purchase, while still fun :) there are a lot more steps to the "pre flight"...
