If a person had ~ $100k to invest in a Bonanza, what should he consider?
My first choice would be an A36 or 35, but wonder how much plane this amount would buy. I make 2-3 1000 nm trips / yr, thus a turbo would be nice, but not mandatory. Otherwise, normal flights have 2-3 people. Some flights are 1-2 persons, w or wo golf clubs.
I don't desire a glass cockpit, just a good GPS and autopilot and the basics.
I'm considering a Mooney 231 as well; it's good on speed. Any suggestions?

Mooneys are almost unbearably tight/small... I'm 5'9 and the thought of 1000NM in an Mooney sounds like cruel and unusual punishment!

I don't own a Beech, but I hope to soon... I think an A36 is a good machine for the mission in my limited experience with them - others will know better. There are some decent V tails in that price range. One with tip tanks will almost surely get you the range you want - bring a thunder jug to pee in! Turbo? Idk... Unless you're pressurized I don't see the point unless you are regularly going in/out of high elevation airports... I personally wouldn't want to be on Sup O2 for hours on-end. Plus more Mx, and you're likely going to have to sacrifice other stuff like decent avionics or engine life to stay in the price band...

Good luck!

1) not an A36. Overkill for stated mission and not good options at $100k
2) plenty of great options in 33/35 market at $100k.
3) im 6’3 and love flying a mooney 201

to each his own I guess! I had a student with a M20J 22 years ago when I was a CFI. Used to give him BFRs. I don't think it was a length problem... I recall feeling like my legs were nearly out straight at nearly a 90 degree angle - like sitting on the floor... Idk, maybe they've changed over the years?
