Better late than never I suppose. I have been a member for several years but just hiding in the shadows. Some may know my late father, Steven Oxman from here and other Beechcraft groups. As I am now the sole pilot and part caretaker in K35 N12711, I realized I need to become more active.
I grew up restoring our beloved 'Lucky Lady' with my family. My father purchased her thinking that he had grabbed a good one..boy were we in for a treat! With 3 emergency landings bringing her home, and several DOZEN ADs not complied with, he quickly learned that 'some' work was needed. The plane went from a flying project, to my father's flying obsession. He became so obsessed with it, that he purchased anything and EVERYTHING Bonanza. My Mom, Judith named the plane 'Lucky Lady' knowing that if anyone else would have purchased this plane, they most likely would have cut their losses with it after they realized what they had.
The plane went through a total restoration over 6 or 7 years and since we have owned has gone from a IO-470 to a IO-520 to now an IO550. (My father had a strong urge to go fast). With the restoration, my Dad became extremely knowledgeable on these amazing machines. I wish I knew half what he did, but I am learning as I go.
As for me, I currently work as a Flight Coordinator in Maryland full time and I am an Air National Guard Member working on A10C's. I learned to fly in the Bonanza as well as my Cessna 140A. I have a newborn son, so flying has been a little limited recently, but should pick up now that my wife, Katie and I are getting the hang of being parents.

Thank you, Rod! The saying "blood, sweat and tears", is an understatement on it. But it really did pay off. The A10 is fun to be around. Username Protected wrote: That is a great looking plane!!! You can tell your father gave it the best treatment it could get, glad you value that treasure. Thanks for your service, A-10s are awesome, you're lucky to be around 'em! But even luckier to have that gem.
Happy Landings! Rod

Thank you, Brad! I can't take credit for how it looks because my parents decided on it, but I do enjoy it! That is a good quote for the photo! I was so excited when I first got to walk up to it. I still smile when I see the GAU-8. Username Protected wrote: Welcome Warren!

Rod, the giant dent is battle scars from in-flight refueling. That one isn't all that bad. You should see how some come back! Username Protected wrote: BTW... whats up with that A-10, looks like someone punched it in the nose.

Thank you for the kind words, Dave! I love hearing that he helped others with their airplanes! I am sure we have met, I never missed the chance to go with him! Sadly I am like him. I am terrible with names but great with faces and airplanes! Username Protected wrote: Welcome Warren,
Your dad was a true gentleman. I can't tell you how helpful he was to me when I bought my first bonanza, an M35. There's a lot of folks in the Beechcraft community that miss him.
BTW, I'm sure that I met you at a breakfast or lunch when you were with your dad.
All the best. Dave

Hi, Warren! Warren and I go way back ... to when I think I was given his room when I stayed over with Steve some 15 years ago or so. I flew the Twin Bonanza in, Steve picked me up in one of his classic cars, and we had fun. Glad to see you here, Warren. You'll fit right in.
