I know it’s cliche, but I’ve been “lurking” on here for some time. Not having been an owner, or even a pilot, I never felt like it was appropriate to comment on anything. The reading has been phenomenal. So much amazing information on this site.

But, today I find myself in a different position. I just finished my lifelong dream and got my PPL. Not that too many folks would care a lot about that. However, I’m in a bit of a unique position, so I am excited to share. I’ll be going strIght into my instrument training in such an amazing plane, my boss’s beautiful A36. I was supposed to have my checkride the day after Christmas. But the examiner got the flu. Yesterday was the soonest he could get me in. So, in the meantime I started flying the 182rg. Wow is all I can say. So much fun. I’m a big guy at 6’5” so the extra shoulder room has been great. Dealing with the gear and prop is so much fun. However I’m beyond excited to start my instrument training in the A36. I’m hoping that the pics show up ok. Thank you all for your posts. There’s more knowledge on here than I could ever take in. Really, I just want to be a great, safe pilot. From everything I’ve read on here, there’s nothing better than flying Beech product. I may never own a plane, but I feel so incredibly lucky to be flying this one.

I am the proverbial FNG, but am excited to at least be on my way. I know there’s decades of advice and experience on here. If anyone is up to sharing, I’d love to hear it.

Take care all!

Hi Steven,

Congrats on your private pilot certificate, and what a nice airplane that is to get your instrument rating in!

Make sure to join the Midwest BeechTalk gang sometime to one of the breakfast or lunch outings. There's a thread titled "Midwest never ending fly in thread" in the TripTalk forum where you can find these.

Best regards,
Martin

Congrats on the PPL!
Fly as much as your boss will allow. You’ll be amazed how quickly your flying skills will improve. You have access to a very nice bird.
Hope to see you at one of the Midwest gatherings!
