Hello BT'ers. I've been lurking about this site for almost two years and felt it was rude not to do an intro. I'm new to GA and Bonanzas, but not aviation (retired AF). I instruct in the T-38 simulators at Sheppard AFB in N. TX. I'm down the hall from John "Tramp" McMurray, who introduced me to Beechtalk and is partially responsible for vast portions of my life being used up on this site...which reminds me, I must thank him. My kids are both out of college and live across the great state of TX, so buying an airplane changed visiting them from an all day slog to a quick jaunt. That, and commercial domestic travel has become a completely miserable experience. Now I know exactly where my bags are. I bought 3848N from a BT mentor, and wonderful gentleman, in April '16. There are four other Bonanza owners where I work, so I dare not show up with anything else, and they were right. The A36 seems to do everything well and never really disappoints. It is a superb design. I've stuffed antiques, paintings, an ottoman in the vast cavern. Seats 5/6 stay in the hangar. What good is an airplane if you can't bring your "stuff?" No "C-word" envy here. I've had it out to Vermont and California (non-stop). The tips and auto-pilot are awesome. I've added a GTX345 and sheepskins (Ramshead). I'm an active Angel Flight pilot averaging a little over a flight a month. It keeps the airplane flying and lets me see different airfields. And, I like flying for a purpose. I've enjoyed the comments, humor and wisdom on this site. And, just to prove it happened....(yes, I got the memo)
