Good morning! I've been lurking a few weeks in the forum learning a lot, and I wanted to introduce myself.

I am sadly neither an owner (yet) nor a pilot but I've grown up in an aviation family and I've worked as a broker for a few years before decided to start a company in the GA field. The reason I can't fly is because I recently (about 4-5 years ago) started getting really bad airsickness. I was going to take lessons (I got some time in a simulator) but then this random onset airsickness hit.

I still love aviation, and even though I fly a lot less, I've been around planes my whole life and my family is a huge aviation family (both of my brothers and my dad are pilots, and one of my brothers is an A&P).

My brother (the A&P) recently got a bonanza and I've had a blast learning from you guys about the plane, and I am looking forward to sharing and learning more (even if it's from the ground).

Didn't Bob Hover start that way. Just get some acro training!

Sounds like you "know" more that you "know" and your brain is over compensating...

I think that's my problem too. I'm thinking about going to the doctor and seeing if they can't fix it somehow.

Early in my training I felt I needed to know the "edge of the envelope" as I just couldn't sort out when I was near the edge or safe as a kitten. I mentioned something to my CFI. Without saying anything, he did a little "extra" on the preflight before one lesson - kept really checking all the control surfaces on that DA20.

CFI: Take me to 8500'
ME: Ok (and did all the stuff to get takeoff clearance, etc.)

Up we went.

ME: 8500'
CFI: My airplane

We slowed down. We talked about stalls, and how forgiving the DA20 is.

Then he made a few abrupt and full scale control inputs .... I looked up and saw what looked like a map of a small Arkansas town ... wha ....

After a turn in the spin, he recovered.

That was REALLY COOL!

Anyway - it sounds your head is playing with your stomach.
