Hi All, I have owned a 1968 M20C Ranger based at KTTN since 2012. I've been flying for 7 years, my wife and kids would like to fly with me so I need a bigger plane...We are a family of 5, I have a house in Ocean City, NJ within walking distance of 26N so on Friday after work I drive to TTN and fly to 26N (30min), on rainy days we would like to fly to where the sun is... I'm leaning towards a Bonanza so I'm hoping to gain insight into the best value. My Mooney is a solid machine and very simple to maintain and operate with manual gear and no autopilot so I'm used to a low cost maintenance. I have never flown in a Bonanza but everyone gushes about them so I want to better understand what it will be like owning a Bonanza. Cheers all and blue skies~!

I was a Mooney owner for 30 years. Sold it a few weeks ago and bought an A36 for more room.

Welcome, Christian!

Lots of Mooneys in these pages! Makes me proud to be part of this esteemed group!

Of course, having a Mooney doesn't exempt you from the pics requirement!

:pics:

Own a bird - gotta post one!

Hi Christian,
Welcome to BT. Love Mooney's but you need more. This group has no problem living/spending vicariously through you. :D

Have fun with the search. Some of the best in aviation are here don't hesitate to tap them. Do you have your IR?

Pics required! :coffee:

Owned a 201, bought a C-55 Baron. Loved the Mooney. Couldn't live without my Baron.

Welcome. You'll love any Beech.

Jim

I have been a die hard Mooney fan for years! Owned two (65 C and 67 F). I actually still own my 67F, but needed 6 seats, and a TBM was out of the budget... so I now own a 69 36.
In many ways she is not my Mooney, but she is an amazing machine.
And i you know anyone looking for a 67F... I got a great one!
welcome!!!

Welcome Christian
I had an M20 C and flew it many 3-4 hour legs with 4 adults. They are an amazing little plane. My F 33 A is just a lot more of that. Still light on controls but very stable and 25 knots quicker. I run this Bonanza LOP so fuel costs I see are not that much higher. My maintenance is also not much different. Inspections are faster as I do not have all those screws. I do a lot of things myself and love the ease of getting at things on the Bo.
Had a couple Cessna's in between those 2 planes and I must say the Bonanza is very well made and it feels like it. This will be my last plane, just wish I had it sooner.
Good Luck with your search!

Do not accept any offer to fly a Bonanza from someone on this forum. It is a trap. Once I talked my wife into flying a friend of mine's S35 bonanza, and after that is like the dog catching the rabbit...it ruined her..Hell, she even looked different after that flight.
