Hi Folks,
I am almost 10 hours into my Private Pilot training and am researching aircraft.
I have an interest in the Debonairs as a cousin of mine owns and fly's one and I feel it would be a nice plane to have for myself.

My primary mission is to fly cross country for work purposes (985 nm) along with shorter trips to visit family etc......
Normally it would be just me and one passenger.

I see a large spread on prices of the planes that I have looked at that are advertised on line. I realize a lot of that has to do with the hours on the engine along with the avionics.
I would rather buy something that does not need much for upgrades and that would be suitable for the uses that I have described.
I am looking for suggestions and input from the experience of the members here and I thank you all in advance.

This is an amazing website. And as I typed that I realize I rarely read the usual aviation magazines like I used to. So much information here and it is interactive too.

1) what is your budget to purchase
2) estimated hours/year
3) what is your annual operating budget

985nm in a bo against modest headwinds is 7 hours flight time, probably 10 houes door to door, $500 in gas and highly subject to cancellation/delays with weather. Get your instrument before thinking about that.
