If you can control your airspeed everything else falls in line. 2) the world's crappiest plane that is (airworthy and) yours to fly any time you want is better than a fancy plane you can fly just sometimes. If there's any way at all you can swing a $10K 150 to live with you in Rolla ... do that. You'll fly more, learn more, enjoy more when you can just hop in the plane and burn $20 of avgas and have a good time. (Plus if you can take girls to St. Louis for dinner, then you will have you pick of the 3 of them who attend MUST) I completely agree, and I'll do all that I can to try and stay as current as possible while at college. And Hahaha yes maybe I should've looked into that Male/Female ratio a little bit more!

The Twin Bonanza in the covered tiedowns at MKC is mine. I'm out there frequently on the weekends tinkering on it; if you see me out there, stop and say hi. That's crazy! Yes i did all of my training in the two Warriors down there, N40616 and N92555. I did my first solo and my check ride in 555 too! That's crazy, what a small world. I'll definitely drop by if I see you out there! I think it's great to meet new pilots and members of the aviation community. There's so much to learn, and I can't think of a better way to do it. And if you ever need someone to fly with I'm down there a lot!

Welcome to BeechTalk Devin! Great to see you here. Hopefully your dad gets more active as well. N479KS is a special plane and the former owner, Matt Beecroft, did an amazing job upgrading it to its current condition and then your dad has made it even better with the overhauled engine, etc. You are going to have an a blast learning to fly her. Since you asked by PM for some photos and specs, here is a link to the original listing for the plane when I sold it to your dad: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=93086I will also attach a few pictures of the plane from when I sold it as well. -Neal

Devin.... You are far too lucky to have this step up opportunity. In order to fully appreciate your good fortune, I think its only right that you fly around in a ratty old 172 for awhile........ like the rest of us had to. Congrats, Mike

Great looking plane! I still find it odd the "cocktail holders" /"mx check writing desks" are so freakin' large on the wings. This may be the only plane you'll ever need.
