Hello BT faithful. I just moved from a 72 E55 to a 99 58. Ugh can we say night and day with the avionics, autopilot and the room in the back. I have one question BT. I'm 6'2 and I sat in this plane many times before the purchase and never with my headset. Well with them on my head bangs against the headliner. Is there any one who has found a remedy for this?

Thanks
Anthony Hicks

I assume your seat is adjusted as low as you can get it? Sometimes when I'm in turbulence I will recline my seat a little to put more room between my head and the ceiling.

Are your seats relatively new? If so it takes a little while for new foam to compress over time. if it is still a problem, you could have an upholstery shop take some depth out of the seat foam. Our shop has done that before.

If your seats are old and in need of a re-rag, you can get a softer foam where you sink a little more into the seat.

Anthony, welcome to BT and to B58 family. I'm also at hooks.
I have the same problem... if I recline my seat, it bumps into number 3 seat even though #3 is full forward. I often fly with 4 (total) so try to keep #3 empty.

Anyway.... the halo's (clarity competitor) are the fix. https://www.quiettechnologies.com

I'm 6'2" and wearing a traditional headset in the 58... can't stand it. However, I strongly prefer the halos over anything I've ever bought anyway. My $1000 Bose sit in the back 'for whoever wants them'.
In addition, my wife requested a halo set after trying mine... not more helmet hair for her when we land.

I'm only 5'11" but I have stumpy little legs and a long torso so I run into the same issues. In my 58 there are two things to watch. First, make sure some mechanic didn't put the middle row seats in the front by accident. I've had it happen and the middles are about 2" taller than the fronts.

Second, I have a tendency to sit upright and in the 58 it helps to recline the seat a little and slide down in the seat just a hare. Its very comfortable once I got used to it, but it did take a little time to feel natural.

Welcome out of lurking, Anthony!

You've been around long enough to know that you can't just announce a plane without sharing pictures!!!!

:pics:

Seriously, though, congratulations on the twin! I'm jealous!

Welcome! I'm 5' 10" and use A20s. Sometimes in heavy turbulence I'll hit my head. Nothing significantly different than A36 and V35B I flew in the past. 58 cabin is identical to A36 cabin.

Have your seat reshaped with thin/dense memory foam and recovered.

Gorgeous panel. Familiar with the G1000 panel in the G58, but what is that? A flux capacitor ;)

Prop synch wheel. You won't find one in your hotrod - need a PT-6 on each wing for that. BTW - your M600 is one beautiful machine.
