Good Morning,
Air traffic controller out of Cape Cod, MA with an enthusiasm for flying. I have my private pilot's license, and I'm about to start my IFR, and complex ratings. Experience level, I have about 100 hours of flight time.
I want to start looking for a bonanza, preferably a F33A (or similar). Looking forward to picking your brains.

Look forward to having you guys fly through. Any advice on preparing for aircraft ownership? Besides rentals, I haven't really been exposed to aircraft (maintenance, hanger fees, financing, insurance, or even where to begin) I appreciate any help.

Travis, Before even starting your search, you need to answer three questions, and answer them truthfully. They are: 1: What is your acquisition budget. Whether financing or cash, what it the total one time cost you are prepared to comfortably pay. Allow for taxes and a 10% reserve for maintenance & squawks. 2: What is your mission 90% of the time. How often will you fly, how far, how many pax, and with how much stuff. Make sure this is the real mission you will have, not the one you wish you had or think you might have. If you can't answer this question with some certainty, rent till you have a better idea. 3: What is your annual budget for ownership. How many hours per year for fuel, oil, and to a lesser extent maintenance. What is the budget for hangar or tie-down space, insurance, taxes, etc. If you don't get the answers before buying your first plane, then it is very likely that you will be back here in a few months asking for advice on how to sell a plane. If you want to answer them here publicly, you will get some great advice. Bill
