hello i'm better known as the King of Obsolete which i'm featured on the history channel's Ice Road Truckers. i have been chasing a dream for 20 years and it has only opened up more questions then answers. went to salvage a beech 18 from a watery grave and recovered the wrong one. now i'm chasing down 2 more to get the right one.
will post over in the classics on these beech 18s.

allan -- i started chasing 1 and now there is a pssoblity of 3 beech 18s all connected to the malcolm island runways between 1969 and 1971. salvage this beech 18 CF-PLG was fairly easy considering i'm afraid of water. so everything was done from the mini toon barge with puppet sticks and "sonic boom goggles", lol.

when my co-star who drove the TD-18 on the Ice Road Truckers show passed away, the estate gave me $4000.00. i did not want to use the money to pay my hydro bill or anything like that so i bought a fish finder. here is a picture of the beech 18 hooked to the mini toon barge getting salvaged. the fish finder is so good it can tell you the bra size on a mermaid.

john -- yes this is what i can buy through the internet because i live at the end fo the world. i now have 2 fish finder, 1 fish camera that is good for 75 feet and a fancy GPS so i can do UTM search patterns. i tell everyone that i have $10,000.00 in fishing equipment and don't own a fishing rod. here is a picture of where the plane sat for 46 year then we dragged the tail until we got the plane to fly in the water to get it to shore. of course no one got a picture of the 2 rudders on the tail coming up and out of the water on each side of the boat that was pushing the barge.

So tell us about your dream. There has to be a lot more to this story. I've never recovered anything from underwater, but I did cut a tree down with a chain saw under water Robert
