Greetings from Baton Rouge. Been hearing about this forum for quite some time from friends. Figured I would finally drop in and say hello. I currently fly helicopters for the Army full time. At least I do for another 4 months until I retire. Aside from that I have an RV-10 that I built and have been flying for awhile. Been looking at selling it and stepping up to a baron. Thinking B55. Got some time in a friend's plane this weekend and really enjoyed it. I look forward to perusing the site and learning a bit along the way.

I am actually based in Gonzales since I live near there but I usually have to work the weekends they do their lunches so I have not been to very many. Working weekends should be coming to an end for me shortly though. I would love to talk Barons with you sometime. PM sent with my number if you are ever airport bumming and have time to pass some of that knowledge along.
Eric

Welcome Eric! Lots of Baron information on this site. And many operators. Should keep you up late reading it all.

It was 5 years on the calendar, but I was overseas for about a year and a half during that period so I call it 3.5 years. It came down to about 2,700 man hours. Could do it now in about 2,200 but it was my first plane, of course my first build, so there was allot to learn along the way. Eric

Eric, Damn fine looking airplane. Baron's are awesome. Tom I had no idea that you lived in Hammond (should have checked your avatar ). I visit up there fairly often to see an old friend who used to the tennis pro outta the country club. I'm in New Orleans/Houma almost every second month to visit my wife's family.

Eric I'd say that you are a fast-learner. Welcome aboard.

Eric
I think I'd like to do it some day, but I have other much much smaller projects that I've had trouble finishing due to waning motivation. That's quite an accomplishment.
