my 1963 debonair has a S Tec 60-2 a/p (garmin 530w and king hsi)
I cannot get it fly correctly in the Nav mode. it will not intercept and track. I think that I am not pushing the right buttons in the correct sequence. ie flying using the bug and trying to intercept a radial or ils with the nav mode
IF THERE IS ANYONE AT KVNY, KCMA OR KWHP WITH THE SAME A/P, I WOULD LIKE TO GET TOGETHER WITH YOU FOR A TUTORIAL AND POSSIBLY HAVE YOU FLY WITH ME AND USE THE A/P TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM IS ME OR THE A/P
I HOPE THIS WORKS THANKS IN ADVANCE

Section 4.2 of the pilot guide explains NAV intercepting and tracking pretty well, have you read that and tried to follow the procedures therein?
Do you have a DG with HDG bug or a HSI? With either you can establish a 45° intercept to a VOR or GPS course simply by setting the course pointer (HSI) or HDG bug (DG) to the course you want to track and push the NAV button.
If you have a HSI you can also program an intercept at something other than 45° by putting the heading bug on the desired intercept heading and the course pointer on the course to track. Then simultaneously press the NAV and HDG buttons on the autopilot. After that the autopilot should maintain the selected heading until the CDI deflection is about half scale at which point the autopilot should align the airplane with the course and track it.
