Hi All-
My name is Paul Marsh, I'm the proud owner of a 79 A36TC, my first plane! Waaaay back in 1978 I learned to fly but never got my license, although I logged about 40 hours. The plane I learned in was a Fairchild PT-26A picture attached. Always figured I'd finish up, but with all the things that life throws at you, I didn't get my license until about 3 years ago. So I have to make up for lost time.

I got my instrument ticket about a year ago and flew in a local flying club, with the idea that when I got closer to retirement, I'd buy a plane and go have fun. Well.....I can't even remember what triggered it but about 2 months ago I decided IWANNAPLANE-NOW! So I did my homework, looked and looked, figured out what I really wanted and here it is! The pictures are from my delivery flight I took with the gentleman who sold me the plane. We left Sacramento bright and early and landed in Lansing, MI 7 1/2 hrs later. Nice tail wind! We had a ground speed over 300mph much of the flight. My son also got his pilots license about a year ago (thanks dad) and is studying aviation mechanics at Western Michigan University (thanks again dad). Lots for me to learn!

Hi Paul and welcome!

Fantastic trainer - wow. And a great looking A36 and narrative too. You will enjoy the company here.

Best,
Jay

Great looking A36TC, Paul.

W/o cowl flaps does the engine run substantially hotter?

Hi Erik-
I'm not sure about operating temperatures. When I bought the plane I decided to get a top overhaul as part of the deal, so thus far its been in the shop. One more week and it should be done! I was surprised it didn't have cowl flaps too and the previous owner explained why but I can't remember for certain what he said. I do wonder if there's an intercooler in my future. Right now with no time in a complex airplane, my head is spinning with all the systems stuff I'm studying! :ahhh:

Hi guys and gals,

I am the proud co-owner of a 1974 Beech Bonanza V35B. It is actually my second Bonanza ownership experience. My first was a highly modified, 1959 K35. The V35B is so much more airplane. Of course, they both have unique personalitities to go along with their unique set of capabilities.

I recently found this site and haven't really found my way around it yet. But, I am looking forward to discovering it's many treasures.

Gary

Welcome Gary. How bout some pics of the Bonanza? You will find that B/T is a wonderful resource of information for your airplane. A lot of very knowledgeable people here......and some sociopaths who we believe to be harmless. Welcome to B/T.

My name is Ron.... and I've enjoyed reading the "BeechTalk" posts as a new member. I've owned and loved a pristine V35B for the past three years. I started flying early (age 16), worked as a line boy, and enjoyed spending thirteen years with Cessna Aircraft Co. after graduating from Kansas University in '73. Like everyone, I've always admired the quality, looks, performance and handling of the Bonanzas. It's nice to see that the airplanes continue to command an extreme "passion" from their owners......
I'm fortunate to be able to use the airplane effectively in my business - working for a high-quality boat builder in Florida and traveling most of the time.
I'm based at FPR - many of you undoubtably pass through there to and from the Bahamas. If I can ever be of assistance, please let me know.
Merry Christmas,
Ron Burkdoll

Ron,

Welcome aboard, beautiful V35B, great looking exterior and interior. Love you panel layout. Makes me miss my '74 V35B - D9603 which I owned for four years. Was your interior redone by Air Mod? The seat styling looks familiar.

Hi Leigh,

Thanks for extending a warm hand in welcoming me to the site. I am attaching recent photographs of N113TW - 1974 Beech V35B. I found this bird in Green Bay, WI were it has been kept in a climate controlled hanger for the last 20 years. For those members of ABS, I wrote an article which was published this month (December '09) about locating this fine Vtail.

It only had about 1630 hours TTAF, and 960 SFRM. Althought the paint quality looks new, it actually was coated in 1988. The airplane was only flown about 400 hours since then and very little since 1999 (50 hours). For those who hear alarms going off, the weakest cylinder tested (in the prebuy) at 76 psi. The seller spent about $10K satisfying the prebuy (including new fuel cells) and other minor things. Since taking delivery in May '09, I have overhauled the propeller (due to a leak), replaced or repaired other minor nuisances, replaced radios with new King transceivers and Nav heads, new communication and localizer antennas, and then I have installed a Garmin 496 with WX on the yoke. Now, everything works and is IFR ready.

Photos attached.

Gary D.

You are correct, he also flys for Jet Blue. Saw him in Tampa at the summit. Had a female Frontier pilot with him, nice looking! I asked her how many bars she had on her shirt she replied "ALL OF THEM" hahahahahahaha

Yes this is the guy you are thinking of!

Cheers!

I'm Marty, I moderate AOPA forums also. Glad to be here and look forward to learning more about these Beech aircraft. I searched for N5GW 2 years before I found her and am more than happy with the performance and comfort. I was lucky to have a friend who knows Adrian Eichhorn and got to meet him @ AOPA open house this year in FDK. He gave my bird a quick look-see and said it was one of the best he has seen. Susan was good to meet also, she writes for the FAA aviation news mag and is a safety director for them.

Thanks Jeff for having this place!

Marty, welcome to the boards here. I'm a newbie to Bonanzas and to this board but I think you will find the atmosphere here very open and engaging and "professional."

You mentioned Adrian Eichorn. The name and the face sound so familiar to me. I think I might have met him about 10 years ago when I was a senior in college. Did he (or does he now) live in the Washington DC area and did he (or does he) fly the Washington Redskins jet? I was doing some acro training at VKX and my instructor introduced me to him and he was standing in front of his plane which was one of the nicest cleanest airplanes I had ever seen at the time. I think he also has an STC for some sort of lighting system for the plane?

Am I thinking of the right person? Or is my memory shot?

-Neal

Merry Chritmas all! My name is Chris Head and I've been lurking here in the cyber shadows for a few months. I am a partner in a KGPM based 1969 C182M and have overseen the maint. on it for 6ish yrs. I stumbled across this site while following LOP/ROP, Beech's are tin cans, TAT & TN, 210's Rule, C340's own Dukes, ;) etc., threads on another site. This is a nice change of pace.

Anyway, I'm a Comm/Inst/SE/ME and former CFII (let that expire) type guy with around 1600hrs. Unfortunately my Beech time is limited to the BE24R that I did my CFI work in and a couple hours in a S35.

To feed my airplane addiction my real job is an ATC. I started in BTR 7/87, went to SAT for 3.5yrs, and been at DFW TRACON since. For those based near or routinely fly in the DFW area, I'm an East specialist so I can be found working the DFW finals (except RY13R), all jet departures out of the area, working the feeds from the east to DFW, DAL, ADS, or working the east satellite airspace.

Chris,

Welcome to the site. Don't be afraid to jump into whatever is boiling on the stovetop, always great to have another controller on - your perspective is always enlightening.

Welcome, and thanks for speaking up.
