Good friends of mine, Bill Austin and Aaron Tippin picked the plane up near Memphis for me today and brought it back to KSRB. I've got 150 hours, ready to take my written and checkride for my Instrument rating. Plan on finishing that, flying about 25 hours with an instructor and then be on my own. I'm like everyone else in this position, I'll need a dual yoke, so I either buy one and sell it after I'm checked out or rent one. Aaron Tippin? Is this the singer Aaron Tippin? He is in and out of my recording studio frequently. Did not know he was a pilot...guess I need to introduce him to Beechtalk! BTW, welcome from Nashville to Beechtalk and congrats on the new bird!

Aaron is a great guy, not like you expect 'a star' to be. He also has two of the best behaved boys I've every been lucky enough to be around. His latest plane is a Meridian and that is what they used to travel to Memphis to pick up my plane. He's also an A&P, owns a cub and an AT-6. Told me that he'd take anyone a ride in the AT-6 for the price of fuel and oil as he needs to log some time in the plane.
If you haven't been to one of his shows, your missing a good time. Even if you are not "country" it's well worth your time.

Congratulations Dale! Good luck with the IFR written and checkride. You just bought a fast cross country traveling machine! Looking forward to the pics.

Pics are posted under N8402N Pictures under this topic. Yoke pictures are for someone willing to swap for my checkout. Nice guy to say the least.
