Sweet ride! Welcome to BT. A B36TC was my choice as well for a first plane.

Welcome Jon! Great introduction and congratulations. I look forward every year to my 5 to 10 days of Vail skiing. I have been going there since elementary school. I am jealous that you get to live (and now fly) there!

First solo today from KEGE KAPA in N87JS. My brave wife flew with me for the first time. I think that I may have actually impressed her with my flying. Or maybe she had such a nice morning being able to buy a pair of shoes at Nordstrom's. Normally my standard reply would have been, "another pair of shoes?", with a slight hint of sarcasm. Instead, I said "wow, those are lovely honey". I'm sure when we compare budgets this month, she could have bought 50 pairs of shoes when compared to my LL100 bills! Ha! Love my new Bo..........

Nice work! Have you taken the mountain flying course yet offered by the Colorado Pilots Association? If not, I would highly recommend it. Invaluable experience. :pilot:

I have not taken the course you are referring to, but have had mountain flying courses from 4 different instructors during my training. I learned a few pearls from each of them. I will look into this course. Basing out of KEGE insures that any direction I want to travel insures I cross some granite.......I really like having the Turbo!

From one dentist to another, two thoughts. IFR rating and TKS.

And probably the most important. Sometimes the best flights are the ones you don't do.

Congratulations, nice airplane!

I envy where you live, what a paradise! I visited Vail this winter and loved it. I will be in Colorado again this ski season, I hope we can meet sometime, I'll buy lunch.

Have fun and watch those mountains!

Angel
