Very nice. Welcome to the site. Now finish off the IR to take advantage of the panel.

PS - Who did your avionics work? Thanks Drew. I'm hoping to get down there - would love to see some Staggerwings! And I'd like to get some raffle tickets for the 172 (is it okay to say that out loud here?!? ) Select Avionics in McKinney put in the 1-pc panel, G600, 430W, DVD player, etc.

Brent,
This is the guy who sold N246WB to you (Rick McKeithan) and flew her out to you. I'm still waiting for you to tell me that you're ready to sell her back to me (no joke). Are you anywhere near that point yet? My number is 910-619-2875
Rick

Rick It doesn't sound like you're getting her back anytime soon. Rick - did you used to post regularly on the red or purple boards? Seems like I remember seeing the Trailershowroom.com

Yes I did..........you have a very good memory my friend.
I sold the plane to Brent and was planning to move up to a cabin class twin, but I've been so busy with building a new home (still a work in progress) and expanding my business that it just hasn't happened yet. I have actually contacted Brent several times since I sold the plane to him just to see whether he was ready to sell it back. I figure that one of these times he'll say "sure.....why not".
I wish I had never sold the plane in the first place, but what's done is done I guess......

Rick Hi Rick - Great to hear from you!! You will be the first one I'll call when I get to that point, however, I'm not quite ready for that just yet. I flew her up to Montana a few days ago to spend time with family. It is the second time I've made the trip and each one is an adventure. N246WB still gets compliments on the ramp all the time. About 3 weeks ago the Absolute Variable Pressure Controller had to be overhauled and, to deal with high CHTs, I replaced the original hanging baffles with Beryl DeShannon's kit. So far I've only gotten a few flights, but it looks like it was worth the money. At 17,500 ft on a ISA+25C day, she was cruising at 183 kts TAS at only about 14.4 gph with the CHTs below 380F. Can't wait to see what she'll do when it cools off. I'm not exactly sure how that compares with other Bo's but its pretty good for this engine and much better than what I've been able to get out of her previously. Actually, this would be a great time to be buying. There are some seriously great deals out there, but they usually don't last long. If I'm ever out in NC I'll be sure to give you a call and we'll go flying.

If I'm ever out in NC I'll be sure to give you a call and we'll go flying. I would love the chance to take a ride in my old girlfriend again.......... You've really done a great job of upgrading her. CHTs below 380F......? I never got anything even close to that. The 14.4 GPH sounds right though. That's about what I was getting. I didn't do much flying above 9,000 feet though. I don't have a good reason for not flying higher other than I enjoyed being low enough to watch the country side go by. I'm actually looking at Cessna 310s, 340s, and 421s at this moment, but if I had the chance to have N246WB back I'd probably put the thought of a twin on the back burner. I'm counting on you to call me first when you're ready to sell her........hopefully I'll be in a financial position to buy her once that day arrives.
