When is the “bigger” fly in at KARG? I’ve been a few times, but it has been a last minute run for me each time.

From a structural standpoint, adding the weight of the tip tank and fuel doesn't increase the spar bending stress at the attachment to the fuselage where the bending moment is the highest. (this is one reason certain planes have a 'zero-fuel' weight to limit the bending stress at the wing attachment)
