Hi friends... I am Kevin from sunny California (kvcb) I just got a 1964 A23 musketeer. I am a student pilot and absolutely love my new plane and flying. Just joined your site yesterday and love the positive feed back I see and resources of info. In doing some research I have found the continental io346 that comes in my plane is a rare motor and extremely hard to find parts for. That worries me a bit being that I have an annual next month . So I am not sure if I want to invest to much money into this plane or just use it as a time builder. Any thoughts.

Thanks... I spoke to the local A&P mechanic and he did say the bottom end on the 346 was a very solid motor and the cylinders were replaced in 06. The plane was previously owned by 4 airline pilots and very well taken care of. Going flying in two hours... Nothing better after a long day at work then some altitude.

Excellent plane. I'd highly recommend that you join the Beechaeroclub www.bac.org as it is an excellent type club with great support/parts information as well as technique advice. You will want to read the threads on fuel management with the 165. Bill Beach - N6699S
