Just to introduce myself - I am a new member down here in sunny Queensland, Australia. Not yet a Beechcraft flyer or owner, I currently fly a '79 Grumman Tiger. Looking into options for a six-place single to fit all of the family and the A36 looks a good bet. Seems to be a good time to buy too...

Woo Hoo! Not only another Aussie, but a banana bender to boot!

Ozitgoinmatealwrite?

Welcome aboard.

I may get lynched for this, but any photo's of your Tiger? I have a soft spot for those cute little machines.

Thanks Gents
The Grumman is indeed a sweet little machine. Need more space for the monkeys though... Most of the six seat options around seem to be flying trucks with the exception of the Bonanza. Couple of pics of the current ride attached.

It's a small world - I was chasing WPZ around the circuit last week in Spiro's HWC. It left me for dead!

Sorry gents - I have actually dragged this thread up from January.
I was just following a Tiger last week doing night circuits and I wondered if it was this one. It's a nice looking plane. There was an open day last Saturday at the flying school, and my 3-y-o decided he liked this plane best of all. (If they had a Bonanza on line it would be a whole different story.)

Hi Martin and welcome, great to see some more of the Aussie folk joining in to, you will find this forum a wonderful resource as do we all i'm sure.

What a fantastic time to purchase both nationally and internationally as well, there is some terrific examples of some A36's getting around for sale also.

Enjoy and welcome,

Regards,

BEn

I know that plane! :peace:

Howdy!

Have to catch up somewhere along the line. Where do you keep it, Kilcoy or Caboolture?

Nice looking plane, but yes, you will need more seats.

I think Martin has purchased a nice 79 A36 which he keeps at YBAF. The tiger is nice though. I flew in it about 20 years ago when it was on Sunland Flying Schools line.

Happy Flying to all

David

I have about 9 months and 80 hours of A36 ownership behind me now and it is just the best machine! I flew the Grumman again recently when the Bo was in the avionics shop and it was good to get re-acquainted. WPZ has been a good servant to a number of owners around SE Queensland for a number of years and continues to fly well, getting used as a basic and IFR trainer at Daedalus at Archerfield now. I reckon the tigers are some of the best value for money small aeroplanes going around, if you're not planning on going too far or with many mates...

g'day Martin!
Congrats on the A.
You know the drill: pics or it didn't happen!
What avionics work did you do?
