I found this site while looking for an elevator for my Baron 58 and was wondering if I'm in the right place... ?

Cheers from sunny RSA, Nick

It looks like the gear doors are just closing so it is a takeoff. Sucking the wheels up at that point is not recommended. I think a low pass at full speed is less risky IMHO.

Regardless, welcome to BT. You have found a great resource with some very talented individuals who are willing to share with the rest of us.

Best,

Thanks to all for the responses & welcome! This pic seems to be of interest....its take off at Charles Prince, Harare Zimbabwe, elevation 4850ft....I agree, the gear was retracted to early, but it certainly made for a good pic & I don't think it will be repeated in a hurry!

Can anyone assist in locating a decent set of elevators for this awesome bird? My AMO here in SA almost wants me to sell my house to pay for them to be re-skinned with aluminium..

Nick,

Welcome to BT. That looks like a beautiful baron. I am on my way to HTKJ (Kilamanjaro) Wednesday of next week. There was another baron owner from SA I conversed with on BT last year...he was a hunting guide. He said his Baron was the best four wheel drive vehicle in Africa. He may be a good brother-in-arms for parts, knowledge and friendship. Hopefully he will see this post and respond.

Good luck with the elevator search.
