Been frequenting this board for about 8 months now and tomorrow is my next step in purchasing a new plane. Looking at a P35 and just wondering if there was some more advice on what I should be mindful of before moving forward.

I'm in Canada (FAR NORTH) and as much as I would like to get my hands on some of the great machines below the 48th, import fees, taxes and the paperwork for importing have convinced me to explore my local (canadian) options first.
I've lined up a AMO for the prepurchase if I go that far and I know that as for market value, this plane is priced quite high, but I figured I needed to make the plunge and see is there is any wiggle room on the price.
As far as I'm concerned this plane would fit my mission. I live in the territories and commercial trips south are fairly expensive. Normally pilots in my area gravitate towards floats or cubs, but I am a commercial pilot who decided to make a career change so I can have the benefits of good pay and being at home every night. I'm under no illusions that in purchasing a plane I am going to cox the wife and kids into using it for our trips 'south' all the time, but after flying Shorts/Turbines and bigger piston cesnnas most of my career, I want something more than a literal puddle jumper or a 172. I like the speed, capacity, range and ifr platform capabilities of the bonanza and think that its right up my alley.
Does anyone have any suggestions with regards to haggling on price? I'm not interested in lowballing for no reason and I can respect an owner that has taken good care of their machine, but I also don't want to be dooped into overpaying for something when I can get a better equiped (p, s or v model) from the states for 60ish and fork over the 10+ g's in importing.
Thnks for your help in advance!
