Hello and thanks for allowing me to join the ranks of the pilots of the most amazing singles ever built. My name is Brian Patti and I live in Queen Creek, Arizona. I currently do not own, however, my plan is to purchase within 6 months so I am coming up to speed on all things Beech. I have a commercial ticket with an instrument rating. I've been flying since 1985. I have 525 hours total time of which the last 12 have been in a 67 Debonair with an upgraded engine. The rest of my time was split between various Cessna's, Pipers, and a Navion Rangemaster. When I'm not flying, I am working as an Engineer at Boeing, not on the aircraft side of the house, but rather on satellite communication systems. I'm a young 47, have a beautiful wife (who recently decided she didn't mind me buying my own plane!) and 4 kids. Three of them are in college and the youngest making his way through junior high. Back to the Bonanza theme, I plan on buying either a late 60s to early 70s straight-tail C33 or F33. For the C33 to work out, I'm only looking for ones with the IO-520. The most important factors for me on the purchase (I think?) are less than 5000 TT and at least 1000 hours left on the engine and all ADs and maintenance well documented. I'm also looking for a hanger at either Chandler (KCHD), Gateway (IWA), or Falcon (FFZ) in the Phoenix metro area. That may be the hardest part of this whole deal. Thanks for indulging my ramblings and I eagerly await hearing from some of you. Regards

Welcome aboard. As for finding a nice place and hanger, try "TheAPA.com" (The Airplane Partnership Association). The site is for persons seeking aircraft partnership/co-ownership deals and you may be able to find some one who is willing to share a plane and hanger with you.

The most important factors for me on the purchase (I think?) are less than 5000 TT Brian, Welcome to BT; it's a great place. Three comments: - the late 60's Debs are great! (yes, I am biased) - don't eliminate an IO-550; there are some out there, and it's just a little bit more oomph! something you may need to climbing out of some Arizona mountain hidaway. - don't set an artificial time limit on a Bonanza/Debonair; for many in the fleet, 5000 hours is really no different than 10,000; it's the maintenance and lack of corrosion that actually matter. Just like you are "a young 47", so can be a 9000-hour C- or E- or F33A.

thank you regarding the "TheAPA.com" resource, I will definetely look into that angle. Also, I accidentally omitted the possibility of the IO-550 so thanks for keeping it on the scope. Cheers!
