Welcome, Eric. I live downtown, keep my Bonanza at Gary. This group has a lot of expertise in spending other peoples' money; keep us in the loop.

Erick,
Take the plunge, life is way too short. I also live in Chicago and like Paul have my plane in Gary. If you need any help finding good instruction, let me know. Good luck

Hi Eric, Welcome to BT! If you need a refresher Baron ride, I'm up in Appleton, WI (KATW) and get down to Waukegan (KUGN) on ocassion to play with Bo Harper and his V35A There is also a great contingent of Bo owners in the West Bend and Waukesha areas. You're in good company. With some dedicated focus you might make your PPL before the deep of the bad weather hits around here and starts to cramp your training time. Maybe Bo will chime in on his PPL transition to his Bonanza. Mike

I'm a 40-ish attorney from Chicago's south 'burbs who has had a lifelong interest in aviation, and am currently looking into starting PPL training. I've had a thing for Beechcraft since a ride in a Baron when I was 14 or 15, and a Bonanza is the pinnacle of my "do want" someday list. I probably won't post much of anything, but I love reading the posts and soaking up the knowledge. My wife and I fly into Midway on occasion to see our daughter who lives near Water Tower place. I know we will be in town for the Iowa/Northwestern game. If you are up for it we can try to cross paths and catch a coffee/beer and talk airplanes. Flew out of Dupage many years ago in a beat up Cherokee 180. Probably still there. Welcome.
