Hello fellow General Aviation Enthusiast,
I am located in Cornelia, GA - KAJR. Currently own a Comanche 180 - which I really like, but it does not fit my mission for the upcoming years. I need to travel to California pretty much monthly, sometimes with family. I started some research and first thought a Cessna 340A or 414A would be the perfect fit for the mission, but then I stumbled over the Baron 58P - which now seems to be THE perfect fit: It appears to be fast, has an acceptable fuel economy and fits all 4 of us if needed. The Cessnas are a little overkill, since most flights will probably just be my flying it...
Now the hard part: finding one for a reasonable price. I found a couple on Controller & TradeAPlane, but those haven't been flown in forever, so there is an overhaul on both engines very likely - I happened to me before with a "low time" Cessna 182... $60K learning lesson...
So if someone knows a good Baron 58P for sale, please let me know. If the price is good, I am willing to put new/ overhauled engines on...
Love to talk to you guys. I think the 58P will be my forever plane, once I find one.

Welcome! The 58P is a great choice for speed and family trips, keep an eye on well-maintained listings and be ready for engine overhauls, but it sounds like a perfect fit for your mission.

Very hard to find a good one - within my planned budget at least. I am expecting overhauls at some point, but don't want to buy an airplane and have to begin with overhauls... Many of the lower priced ones, have been flown less than 10hrs/ year the past 10+ years, so there is almost certainly an immediate overhaul looming...
