Hi, I'm Derek and I'm a dad of two in the Seattle area.
I've been flying for about 8 years (all Cessna) and have just completed the purchase of my first ever airplane, a wonderful 1951 C35.
I'm getting my transition training set up and getting the seat slider STC done (I'm 6'3") and then I'm going to fly the heck out of this beautiful airplane!
I've been a daily reader of BT for years and am so excited to finally have one to call my own.
Pictures next week (airplane is still in seller's hangar as I finish the paperwork on my storage), but I'm so incredibly excited.
I have Lew's book, Larry Ball's book, and the Flying the Bonanza book (author escapes me). I also joined ABS. I CAN NOT WAIT to get proficient in the plane and use it to start exploring this great country of ours.
A few stats
Blue/white E225-8 with Hartzel prop (65 hours SMOH on both) GNC300XL GPS STEC 50 10 gallon aux tank in the cargo hold Skybeacon ADSB out
I am stopping myself from "upgrading" until I get some flying time in, but I did buy an ADSB in Stratux to give me more cockpit info. I need to figure out an ipad mount (I have the mini with Garmin pilot on it)
Happy to take any advice. I'm based in KRNT (Seattle), so let me know what the Beech folks are doing around here!

Yes sir! I'm already talking to Mike about the seat STC and getting advice on the prop AD.
My regular annual mechanic (whom I've yet to meet, but has managed the plane for 10 years) is moving next door to Mike so that will be handy (just a short flight away).
