Folks, I am very happy to be the newest Bonanza owner on this list today. My son and I just closed on N27HB, a 1977 A36 Bonanza. We call it November Two Seven Harris Bonanza. I'd had about 1000 hours in a Cessna 172 partnership, but sold my share in 2006 after my first son was born and I wasn't flying enough to feel current. My kids love airplanes, especially the eldest, Abraham, and I renewed my currency this summer. Abraham has been involved the whole way, riding along during my checkouts and IPC, pouring over Controller and airplane specifications, and flying out to New York for the prebuy. We wouldn't have done so well picking the plane without the help of many of you on this list. In October, I asked about V35B vs. A36 and got nearly unanimous response that we needed an A36 for a family of 5. Then I asked for insights on the accident rate and got very helpful responses. The plane is in upstate New York and I posted looking for a shop and got several recommendations of Canandaigua Air Center, where Chris, Jeff, and Tim did a great prebuy and completely involved us in the process. Abraham is becoming a plane expert in the way that only kids with a passion and plenty of free time can do. Now we are about to fly it back to CCB and got several offers from this board from instructors who will train me during the trip. What a wonderful community! David, What an awesome intro!!! You have a fantastic airplane, a wonderful son, and many, many adventures ahead of you. Please take a lot of pics, and write about your trips. Great memories for both your family AND for us.

Congrats! Nice looking Bonanza. I'm a new owner, too, since September. Great days around here following my purchase. We all 3 like to fly. I get teased from time to time by my initial instructor of 21 years ago. He wants to know if my boy has been "letting me fly his airplane". You'll be impressed at the things your son will figure out, questions he has and future plans he'll make for your Bonanza and family. Enjoy these times...

Congrats David! The plane looks great and great photos too, thank you. I love how the blue on the plane, it must look great when it catches the sunlight. Well done!

Yes, my nine-year-old is already working out that I might lose my medical in 30-40 years and making sure he has dibs on the plane at that point. My son figured out how to work the doors before I did. He's sucking everything up and will be a real asset in the cockpit as well as a pleasure to fly with. David Username Protected wrote: Congrats! Nice looking Bonanza. Great story David! Beautiful plane! I had the same paint scheme and colors on my E33A. Look forward to hearing and seeing more!
