Thanks for that spike, I've been fortunate to be exposed to warbirds, classics, etc. all my life. My father gave me most of my formal primary instruction in his AT-6 when I was 16.
I've always loved the round engine airplanes. Although after 2000+ hrs in 18's 3000+hrs in DC-3's I don't want to make a living in them any longer. You still can't beat the smell of burnt 80/100LL , aeroshell 120, fire coming from the stacks at night etc. my living now is produced by the " engines with no personality " (PT6-65's) but you can't beat the reliability.
I managed to get almost completely off the subject didn't I?

Ah yes , I test flew the airplane that day from Kitty Hill to GTU.
I was really dreading having to go back and land at kitty hill , but it worked out.
The you tube video says it's private . Is there any way it can be unlocked?

Should be public now. I wish I had been able to get more video. I was lying on my back under my plane when you landed and it took me a few minutes of gawking before I thought to pull the trusty BlackBerry dinosaur out. That's about the sexiest plane and paint job I've seen anywhere.

Unfortunately Kitty Hill is gone and Joe Sills has moved away. T77 was never my favorite place to land except on the days of the annual picnic.

Yes I heard about T77 . Hate to see that. Did Joe head to Giddings?
Johnny Farquhar built the rocket for me and did a helluva job ,I'll say.
I can understand completely about T77 and the 2000 ft hilly gravel/sod runways .
The Rocket was new to me and you can't see Jack over the nose , plus it lands pretty hot.
Not fun in that airplane that day. I came to GTU after the first takeoff from Kitty Hill to figure out the best way to land and keep the prop out of the ground before I went back there.
