Well, as of July 27th, I am a Private Pilot. It feels as if a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Thank for the encouraging words.

Unfortunately, the Sundowner is down. On the last oil change a crack in the engine case was found. Luckily, my mechanic is fine with supervising my work as a removed the engine and disassembled the engine. The mags need attention, as well as the accessory drive gears and the case. Cylinders, crank, pistons are all ok. Might be down for about 3 weeks, but she will be back and better than ever.
I will try to get to Tyler next weekend.

The case is on the UPS truck headed for ECI in San Antonio. We shall see what they say. It was only noticed during the last oil change because of oil seepage.
